Attorneys: Marie Jonas

Marie Jonas is a partner in our Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice Groups, and represents clients in a wide range of commercial matters, including those involving breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation, and fraud.

Marie’s clients include technology companies, hotels, financial institutions, non-profits, and independent schools. Marie also coordinates the pro bono representation of undocumented immigrant children by Folger Levin attorneys, in collaboration with the non-profit KIND (Kids In Need of Defense).

Before joining Folger Levin, Marie gained specialized expertise handling large-scale healthcare and financial fraud matters. Marie enjoys tackling complex problems and working collaboratively with clients to help achieve practical solutions.

Marie obtained her law degree (Order of the Coif) from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2011, where she received the American Jurisprudence Award (First in Class) in Contracts and Income Taxation, as well as the Prosser Prize (Second in Class) in Securities Regulation. Marie received her B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University, graduating with departmental honors in 2007.

Marie served as a law clerk to the Honorable David O. Carter of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She is a member of the California Bar.

From 2018 to 2021, Super Lawyers Magazine selected Marie as one of its Northern California Rising Stars.

Marie is an avid cyclist, and serves on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, one of the largest and most effective bicycle advocacy groups in the country.
