Don Kelley is a partner in our Corporate & Real Estate and Estate Planning Practice Groups who has more than 40 years of experience handling complex transactional, real estate and business counseling matters on behalf of corporations and high net-worth individuals.

Don assists clients in such diverse areas as commercial real estate acquisition, development, leasing and land use; formation of business entities and joint ventures; corporate counseling and governance; business acquisitions, dispositions, reorganizations and restructurings; financing and securities transactions, including venture capital investments; commercial transactions; and estate planning and wealth transfer issues.

Don received his law degree from Stanford University Law School (Order of the Coif) in 1973. He received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Yale University in 1970.

Following law school, Don served as a law clerk for Justice William O. Douglas of the United States Supreme Court and for Judge Robert F. Peckham of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He also taught a Business Planning class for many years as a lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, and for a number of years chaired the Human Subjects Review Committee for the Northern California Cancer Program. Don is a member of the California Bar.
